Officials say the investigation was launched after they learned of inappropriate behavior between 42-year-old Avita and an underage girl.

Pinellas investigators say Avita invited the girl to his home, gave her money to go shopping and then touched her inappropriately. The sheriff’s office says he then told the girl not to tell anyone.

Officials say the victim reported the incident and contacted law enforcement.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office says anyone who has been victimized is asked to contact Detective Kathleen McKee at 727-582-5827.

The investigation is ongoing.
