Milan coach Paulo Fonseca was furious at a post-match press conference after the 2-1 defeat to Fiorentina and insisted Christian Pulisic should take penalties for the Rossoneri.

Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat in Florence on Sunday evening as Toscana goalkeeper David De Gea saved two penalty kicks. He saved Theo Hernandez in the first half and Tammy Abraham in the second half.

Milan players decided to change the designated penalty taker as UMSNT international Pulisic usually appears from the penalty spot.

Fonseca was furious after the final whistle. He didn’t just complain about the referees Decisions and soft punishment but occurs also raged at his players.

During a press conference attended by Football Italia, Fonseca said: “Of course I’m upset (that the players changed penalty takers). Christian (Pulisic) should take a penalty. This must never happen again and I told the players that.”

Matteo Gabbia attended a post-match press conference with Fonseca and confirmed that the Portuguese had raised the issue in the dressing room after the game. However, he did not reveal exactly what the coach told his players.

Milan are in 6th place in the Serie A table, 11 points level with Torino and five points less than leaders Napoli.

Their next league game after the international break is against Udinese at San Siro on October 19th.
