If elected, what steps will you take to reduce the cost of living – particularly housing, insurance, groceries and gas – in Florida?

I’m running to solve the affordability crisis that began under Rick Scott when he was governor. I will advance legislation to reduce home insurance rates by 25%, expand the child tax credit to help the families of over a million children in Florida, vote to ban hedge funds from buying single-family homes, and fight against corporate consolidation of large grocery store chains , which drive up prices. I would also support initiatives to compete with China by moving the solar panel supply chain to Florida, reducing energy costs and creating jobs.

If you could accomplish anything during your term, what would it be?

As a senator, I will protect the freedoms of Floridians – the freedom to have access to health care and affordable housing and to be safe from natural disasters and violence. I’m fighting to lower the cost of gas, groceries and insurance and protect Floridians’ hard-won benefits like Social Security and Medicare. I will always support the right of Floridians to make their own decisions without government interference. And I will always protect the Social Security and Medicare benefits that seniors like my mother have worked so hard for.

Rick Scott

party: Republican

Age: 71

Profession: US Senator

Qualifications: He has been a US Senator since 2019 and Governor of Florida from 2011 to 2019. He is a lawyer and former CEO of a hospital company.

If elected, what steps will you take to reduce the cost of living – particularly housing, insurance, groceries and gas – in Florida?

The cost of living has risen sharply and inflation has spiraled out of control thanks to the Democrats’ continued reckless spending and socialist policies. Seniors on fixed incomes are struggling to make ends meet, and the dream of homeownership is disappearing for many Floridians. To bring prices down, we must first get spending under control. I have been warning since 2019 that prices will rise if the federal government continues to spend recklessly. I am also fighting to reduce the cost of insurance through several pieces of legislation, including my Flood Insurance Affordability Act, which would make flood insurance more affordable. We also need to become energy independent again, as we were under the Trump administration, so that our gas prices are not tied to the decisions of foreign governments.

If you could accomplish anything during your term, what would it be?

We must make life more affordable for all Americans, and that starts with balancing the budget, just as every family and every business must do. We did it in Florida when I was governor and it saved families and businesses billions. Democrats continue to raise taxes and spend tax dollars recklessly, making life less affordable for Floridians while attempting to provide tax breaks to illegal immigrants. I’m fighting to lower prices, secure our border and stop the Democrats’ agenda that prioritizes illegals over Floridians.
