Florida Gators first injury report for game at Kentucky

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators hosts the Kentucky Wildcats this Saturday in an attempt to end a three-game losing streak against the Wildcats and avoid the longest losing streak against UK since 1948-51.

“Kentucky has a good football team. Regardless of the record, when you turn on the tape, you see a team that has size, length, speed and certainly has an identity in all three parts of their team and can cause you a lot of problems,” Florida head coach Billy Napier said about Kentucky.

“Strong defensive unit with many experienced players. Obviously an offensive unit that has improved every week. And special teams have dynamic returners that can cause some headaches. So Coach Stoops is doing a really good job. I have a lot of respect for him as a coach in terms of his performances and the consistency with which they played. So Kentucky is a lot better than their record says, and that will obviously be a big challenge. We’re excited to be back home.”

Per SEC rules, both the Gators and Wildcats provided injury updates Wednesday evening.

The four pre-game designations are:

  • Out (i.e. not played/0% chance of playing);
  • Doubtful (i.e. unlikely to play/25% chance of playing);
  • Questionable (i.e. unsure if it will be played/50% chance of playing it); or
  • Likely (i.e. likely to play/75% chance of playing).

The Gators will be without starting quarterback Graham Mertz, who was out for the season with an ACL injury. Linebacker RJ Moten is also new to the injury report. Starting running back Montrell Johnson also suffered a leg injury in the loss to Tennessee. Although he was unable to return to the game, he is listed as questionable this week (50% chance of playing). Backup running back Treyaun Webb was upgraded to questionable after missing the last two games.
