Flood warnings, strong winds and heavy rain continue as the weekend approaches

JACKSONVILLE, Florida. – A flood warning has been issued for Duval and Nassau counties until 3:45 p.m. as additional rain moves in from the Atlantic, further soaking already saturated ground; 2 inches or more is possible.

A flood warning remains in effect for coastal northeast Florida counties, including Eastern Clay, Eastern Putnam, inland Flagler, inland St. Johns and Duval, 8 p.m. Friday.

At the same time, the possibility of a Flood Warning remains in effect for parts of Northeast Florida, including the following areas: Coastal Duval, Coastal Flagler, Coastal Nassau, Coastal St. Johns, Inland Flagler, Inland Nassau, Inland St. Johns, Southeast Georgia Coastal Camden, Coastal Glynn, Inland Camden and Inland Glynn. High water this afternoon could increase the risk of flooding in towns along river banks and beaches.

Highs Thursday will be between 80 and 85 degrees in Northeast Florida, while Southeast Georgia will stay below 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. The ride home will be wet as showers and storms increase after midday. Winds will be in the double digits, with gusts up to 30 mph.

I’m looking forward to Sunday when it will be a little drier and the chance of rain will be only 40% when the Jaguars welcome the Browns to (Tr)Everbank Stadium.
