FFN Preseason Tour 2024: Marked Tree

JONESBORO, Arkansas (KAIT) – Our next stop on the FFN Preseason Tour is Marked Tree.

The Indians finished last season 10-2, narrowly missing out on a chance to play in the 2-A league state championship game.

But in 2024, head coach Waylon Dunn welcomes back influential players on both sides of the ball.

“We’ve been playing a lot of 7-on-7 games, a lot of training camps in different places and that’s given us a little bit of a head start. Right now it’s all about conditioning, getting in shape. We’re obviously not where we need to be yet, but hopefully we can get there in the next week or so. First of all, we want to win enough games so we can be conference champions and make the playoffs at home. It was tough being on the road three weeks in a row for the playoffs, not to mention last year three of the last four regular season games were on the road. So that was six of seven games on the road. It takes a toll on you a little bit, so we’ve got to cut down on penalties and not lose the ball and play good football. I mean, this conference is tough and you have to play well every Friday,” Dunn said.

Marked Tree begins its season on August 30th against Newport.
