Fans celebrate across LA after the Dodgers secured a spot in the World Series

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Fans streamed out of Dodger Stadium and celebrated another National League pennant as the Dodgers ended the Mets’ season and secured a spot in the World Series.

After the victory, there was immediate excitement throughout the region. Fans in East LA gathered at an intersection, setting off fireworks and waving Dodgers flags, while some drivers did burnouts and performed donut stunts.

After the game, fans lined up at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Pasadena to purchase NLCS and World Series merchandise.

Downtown, City Hall was lit blue to celebrate the Dodgers’ victory.

The Dodgers will now face the New York Yankees in the World Series. It will be the twelfth time the storied franchises have met in the World Series and the first in 43 years.

“It’s kind of what people wanted, what we all wanted,” Dodgers star Mookie Betts said. “It will be a battle between two good teams with many long flights across the country.”

As of Sunday night, tickets to Game 1 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium have been selling for more than $1,000 on the secondary market.
