It’s almost time to return to the ballroom for the 33rd season of Dancing with the stars.

The ABC reality competition series was officially renewed in May, and season one contestant, Olympic gymnast and viral sensation, Stephen Nedoroscikwas announced in August.

“From Paris to #DWTS!🥉 We are thrilled to welcome pommel horse legend @stephen_nedoroscik as the first star of the season,” the official Dancing with the stars Instagram page written about Instagram.

Nedoroscik then showed off his breakdance moves – which were very similar to his pommel horse routine, but without the pommel horse – on Good morning AmericaHe also mentioned that he hopes to incorporate some of his gymnastics tricks into the show.

“Maybe a backflip or a handstand,” he said. “I want to have fun doing it.”

Season 3 premieres on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesday, September 17, at 8 p.m. ET. New episodes air Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.

Long-standing DWTS Personalities Lindsay Arnold And Peta Murgatroydhas meanwhile confirmed that they will not be part of the 33rd season.

Although no final date has been announced, DWTS usually ends at the end of November. However, last year’s season finale fell on December 5th.
