Red Roomswritten and directed by Pascal Plante, is a serial killer film inspired by the dark spaces of the web of online urban legends. After premiering at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on July 4, 2023, the film was hailed as one of the scariest entries in the serial killer genre in recent years.


Starring Juliette Gariepy, Laurie Babin, Elisabeth Locas and Maxwell McCabe-Lokos, the film follows Kelly-Anne, a young woman who temporarily escapes her loneliness. When she finds two gruesome crime videos for sale on the dark web, linked to a killer named Ludovic Chevalier, accused of murdering three teenagers, she wants to attend his high-profile trial and find solace in her fixation on crime. However, her obsession grows exponentially when a third piece of evidence surfaces. How far will she go before she destroys herself and everyone connected to the serial killer? Red Rooms will be in theaters on September 6th.

Resurrection is a recurring theme in the horror genre that has proven time and again to be effective with audiences. This premise has long served as the basis for Frankenstein Films, with over 50 films released since the 1930s. Here after is another similar horror film starring Connie Britton, who has appeared in some notable horror films and television series, including American Horror Story And Nightmare on Elm Street.


In the film, Claire is grateful that her daughter Robin has miraculously escaped death after a catastrophic accident. However, she notices that Robin has changed drastically after the incident, as if something sinister has been following her as she tries to find her way back from the brink of death. Here after will be in theaters on September 13th.

Speak no evil

Speak no evil is one of the most anticipated horror films of the month, starring James McAvoy, Mackenzie Davis, Scoot McNairy and Aisling Franciosi. In the film, which is an English-language remake of the Danish-Dutch film GuestsA family is invited to spend a weekend with friends in a beautiful country house. But as the trailer suggests, things quickly take an ominous turn, as not everything is as it seems. Ten years have passed since one of the scariest films of the 2010s, The Babadookhas been released, and what better way to celebrate the occasion than to re-release it on the big screen? IFC Films has chosen to re-release the indie horror film in theaters on September 19, with an exclusive Q&A with director and screenwriter Jennifer Kent.

The Babadook is a psychological horror film about Amelia (Essie Davis), a widow who lost her husband six years ago, and her six-year-old son Samuel, who is spiraling out of control by the day. Samuel is convinced that the demon haunting him in his dreams is planning to kill them both, making him more violent and unpredictable, prompting Amelia to put him on medication. However, as Amelia begins to sense the presence of evil, she realizes that Samuel may not be as crazy as she thought. The Babadook will be back in theaters on September 19th.

Winter Island is a Polish horror film that originally premiered in Poland on May 16, 2024, at a few horror film festivals and received positive reviews. Early critics called the film “a classic ghost story of the subgenre and one of the best titles it has to offer.” Starring Elijah Carnazzo, the film is a mystery horror thriller and also features other well-known actors including Jason Adkins, Katie Prentiss, Ashlyn Harlos and Charles Leggett. Winter Island will be available on VOD in the US on September 24th.


Holiday Apartment 7A

Stream on Paramount+ on September 27

Holiday Apartment 7A is set in 1960s New York, where a dancer, played by Julia Garner, is in crisis and is drawn into dark forces by a couple who promise her fame. The film is a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby with Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, Kevin McNally and Andrew Buchan alongside Garner in the leading roles. Natalie Erika James is the director of the film, known for relic, CreswickAnd Drum shaft. Holiday Apartment 7A will stream on Paramount+ on September 27th.
