European football round-up: David de Gea scores double, magical Omar Marmoush, Barca bounce back

David de Gea was Fiorentina’s hero, saving two penalties in a chaotic game against AC Milan to claim their second Serie A win of the season.

The Spaniard went deep to the left to save Theo Hernandez’s penalty in the first half before making a great dive to the right to save Tammy Abraham’s penalty in the second period.

De Gea, 33, has now saved two of the four penalties he has suffered since joining the Italian club in August.

Yacine Adli and Albert Gudmundsson scored for the hosts, with Christian Pulisic equalizing in between, in a game that also saw Milan stopper Mike Maignan save Moise Kean’s penalty, Fiorentina coach Raffaele Palladino sent off in the closing stages and Milan Defender Hernandez received a red card after the final whistle.

Scott McTominay scored after 25 seconds as Napoli beat Como 3-1, continuing their good form from the start of the season and staying at the top of the Italian top flight.

Romelu Lukaku also scored for Antonio Conte’s side to move two points ahead of second-placed Inter Milan, who beat Torino 3-2 thanks to a hat-trick from their French international striker Marcus Thuram.

Juventus conceded their first goal of the season as they held on to a surprise 1-1 draw at home to Cagliari on Sunday.

Razvan Marin equalized from the penalty spot in the 88th minute after Dusan Vlahovic had given the hosts the lead with a penalty in the first half.

But Thiago Motta’s team, which was without Nicolas Gonzalez, Arkadiusz Milik, Timothy Weah and Gleison Bremer, had to pay for the loss of intensity.

“We took our foot off the pedal after our goal and we can’t do that. We have to keep attacking, and attack well. What happened is all our own fault,” Motta said.
