GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gators Recipient Eugene Wilson will miss his third straight game for the Gators against the UCF Knights. Wilson was injured during the Florida-Samford game in Week 2 and missed the first two SEC games against Texas A&M and Mississippi State. He underwent surgery before Florida’s game against Mississippi State. Wilson was able to return to the practice field this week and warm up before the game, but will not get fit.

“We are happy with his progress, head coach Billy Napier said on Wednesday evening. “(Wilson) Did some things in practice. He did some reps today.”

Despite missing two of the first four games, Wilson is still second on the team with 13 receptions for 191 yards and a touchdown.

“We’re definitely the better team with Tre Wilson,” Napier said. “But I think so (Chimere) Dyke and in particular (Elijhah) Badger has improved significantly. We have the opportunity to play formation plays to get the first players into position, as we have done in the past. We take what we have every week, mold it and try to make these guys a primary and secondary player.”

The Gators will bring back receiver Ja’Quavion Fraziars, defensive back Aaron Gates, offensive lineman Roderick Kearny and defensive lineman Michai Boireau, all of whom missed Florida’s game against Mississippi State.

The Gators have a long list of players who will miss Saturday night’s UCF game, including running backs Treyaun Webb and KD Daniels, defensive lineman Joey Slackman, safety Asa Turner, receiver Aidan Mizell, defensive back Ja’Keem Jackson and offense Lineman Devon Manuel and tight end Tony Livingston.

This will be the first game that running back Treyaun Webb has missed. Webb is second on the team in runs scored (21). Without Webb, newbie Jadan Baugh will get a bigger role.
