ESPN’s College GameDay predicts Florida State vs. Georgia Tech

Unfortunately, college football is back. While there isn’t a full schedule for Saturday football, college football is back. Not only are the power conference teams playing in Week 0, but the Florida State Seminoles and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are also locked in an ACC battle in Dublin, Ireland.

The Week 0 contest will make for an exciting first matchup of the college football season, and fans across the country will be able to watch ESPN’s College GameDay for the first time this season.

Additionally, for the first time, the GameDay team will give their thoughts on the season, previewing the year while also making their usual picks for the games ahead.

Here’s how ESPN’s College GameDay predicted the Florida State vs. Georgia Tech game:

Desmond Howard: Florida State

Nick Saban: Florida State

Pat McAfee: Florida State

Stephen “Sheamus Farrelly: Georgia Tech

Kirk Herbstreit: Florida State

It’s no surprise that Florida State is favored by the panel, as the team that was ranked No. 11 in the country in the preseason has retooled well and head coach Mike Norvell certainly knows how to utilize talent from transfer portals. Georgia Tech, as the GameDay panel suggested, is a surprise team in the conference with its returning talent.

It goes without saying that the 49,000 or so spectators at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium will be in for a great spectacle when the two teams face off in a conference match in Week 0, giving new impetus to the overseas duel.

The College GameDay panel also chose its ACC champions: Saban and “Sheamus” chose Florida State, Herbstreit chose Clemson, McAfee chose Virginia Tech and Howard finally chose Miami. There were mixed answers from the team.
