Enthusiast sets world record with 444 consoles connected to a single TV

An avid retro gaming collector has set a Guinness World Record after developing a system that allows his collection of 444 consoles to be connected to a single TV simultaneously. Ibrahim Al-Nasser, from Saudi Arabia, outfitted the machines using a complex multiple KVM switch system (with a supporting PC), explaining that he was fed up of plugging and unplugging consoles and adapters to enjoy his huge collection.

A typical smart TV in 2024 will come with three or four HDMI ports, an RF input, and some USB support. Many users will only use the physical ports for consoles and the like, as mainstream entertainment usually reaches our screens via the internet, so Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections are standard. That’s not great for game console collectors who want to dip into their extensive games library more than occasionally. In Al-Nasser’s case, he took on the challenge of having his 444 consoles “on call” whenever he felt like playing something.
