Hailie Jade Mathers, with the help of her best friend Brittany Ednie, found a sneaky way to hide her pregnancy before her father Eminem announced the exciting news.

On Friday’s episode of their podcast “Just A Little Shady,” the pair revealed how skillfully Ednie Mathers “covered” during a wedding they both attended “a few weeks ago.”

“I also have to defend myself now that it’s public knowledge that you’re pregnant, because at that wedding people didn’t know she was pregnant,” Ednie said after Mathers called her out for being a little tipsy at the wedding be.

Ednie explained that she secretly drank all of Mathers’ alcoholic drinks so that her friends would not arouse suspicion.

“So she treated herself to a drink and didn’t drink it like a responsible parent would,” she said.

“Whenever people got turned around, she would hand me her drink and I would chug, making it look like she had been drinking non-stop all night.”

Mathers said her best friend really “contributed to the team” by doubling the amount of drinks, even though she was never asked.

“I’m going to defend myself, though, because I never actually asked you to do this,” the mom-to-be said. “It was like an unspoken thing with our eyes.”

Until then, Mathers explained that her now-husband Evan McClintock secretly sipped her drinks at social events. However, she said he was “not around” while they chatted with different groups of people.

Plus, the drink was very specific, like a lavender lemonade, so Evan was like, ‘I don’t want that,'” the 28-year-old explained. “But you were like, ‘Oh, I’ll have a few drinks of that.'”

“So I feel like you volunteered for this,” she quipped.

However, the BFFs didn’t have to keep up their ruse for long, as Mather’s famous father announced her pregnancy weeks later in the new music video for his song “Temporary.”

In the video – dedicated to Mathers – the mother-to-be presented her famous father, 51, with a Detroit Lions jersey with the words “Grandpa” on the back.

The “Lose Yourself” rapper looked shocked as he held up the jersey and looked at his daughter in awe.

Mathers also gave her father a picture of her sonogram, which she later posted on Instagram with husband Evan McClintock.

The expectant parents met in 2016 and McClintock popped the question seven years later. The “Houdini” rapper walked her to the altar in May 2024.

Meanwhile, Eminem gave birth to his baby girl in December 1995 with Kim Scott, to whom he was married twice before they finally split in 2006.

He also adopted Alaina – the daughter of Kim’s twin sister Dawn – and Stevie Mathers – Kim’s child from another relationship – when they were young.
