EchoStar loses 104,000 pay-TV subscribers in the second quarter

ENGLEWOOD, Colorado.— EchoStar Corporation joined the chorus of growing concerns in the pay-TV industry during this quarter’s earnings season by reporting lower revenues and wider losses for both the second quarter ended June 30, 2024 and the first six months of the year.

In the second quarter, the number of pay-TV subscribers decreased by approximately 104,000, compared to 294,000 in the year-ago quarter. The company ended the quarter with 8.07 million pay-TV subscribers, including 6.07 million Dish TV subscribers and 2.00 million Sling TV subscribers.
