Early morning tornado warnings cause school delays and school closures

Several schools were closed early Monday morning after tornado warnings were issued around the Oklahoma City metro.

Edmond Public Schools will be virtual today.

“Please stay safe from the storms. We will provide further information about lessons and device pickup this morning,” Principal Angela Grunewald wrote to parents.

Millwood Public Schools, Deer Creek and Bethany Schools are all closed today.

The opening of Western Gateway Elementary has been delayed. The school opens at 10 a.m

OKCPS had already scheduled days off today and Tuesday, November 5th.

OKCPS has canceled professional development (PD) for Monday, a regular PD day.

The district said administrative offices will remain closed until weather conditions improve.

The Oklahoma City Municipal Court also canceled its meetings on Monday due to the threat of severe weather.

Presiding Judge Philippa James will grant any defendant/counsel who requests a continuation fee a continuance without a continuation fee for cases pending on Monday.

The defendants will be informed of the new court date.

The public counter is available for those who would like to pay their fine in person.
