OSAN AIR BASE, Republic of Korea – U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Stephen Kreidler, an independent medical technician assigned to the 51st Operational Medical Readiness Squadron, was named “Mustang of the Week” Aug. 13, 2024, at Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea.

An independent duty medic is the only registered health care provider who can provide care at U.S. Air Force medical treatment facilities, base medical treatment facilities, or remote or deployed locations when no licensed, privileged, or certified health care provider is available.

As flight and ground emergency response flight director, Kreidler oversees key tasks in managing and coordinating emergency response operations. Most recently, Kreidler assembled a whole blood collection emergency response team consisting of 12 medical professionals. Kreidler’s dedication to the craft directly impacts the mission readiness of the 51st Fighter Wing’s Airmen and their ability to execute the “Fight Tonight” mission.
