DETROIT (FOX 2) – With just over a month to go before the presidential election, Michigan continues to be a hot spot for candidates hoping to win the swing state.

Former President Donald Trump will be in the state Thursday afternoon to speak at the Detroit Economic Club (DEC). This event is only open to club members and their guests.

Trump last attended a rally in Saginaw, Michigan, a week ago. He had previously visited Detroit, speaking at the National Guard Association conference in August. His other visits to Michigan were spread throughout the state.

Trump’s DEC stop comes just two days after his vice presidential candidate JD Vance’s visit to Eastern Market.

During that visit, Vance discussed electric vehicles and automobile manufacturing, encouraged voters to cast their ballots early and heaped praise on his Vice President Donald Trump. He also made a prediction about his trips to the state.

“I’ll be in Michigan about 30 times,” he said.

This week’s visits and all future visits come as voters in Michigan have already begun voting. Mail-in ballots have been sent to voters since late September, and early voting will begin soon.
