Discus confirms speakers for women in whiskey talk

Speakers have been confirmed for a panel discussion on “Women Shaping the American Whiskey Industry” – including leaders from Angel’s Envy, Virginia Distillery and the Distilled Spirits Council of the US (Discus).

Five influential women in the whisky industry will share their insights during the panel discussion

On September 2, Cheers! Spirits from the USA – a campaign sponsored by industry association Discus and supported by the US Department of Agriculture – will host the first of two House of US Spirits pop-ups at TT in London.

The September 2 program includes a panel discussion titled “Equality in Pouring: Women in the American Whiskey Industry.”

The industry body has confirmed that panellists will include: Christine LoCascio, Head of Policy, Strategy and Membership at Discus; Angela H Moore, Chair of Virginia Distillery; Shannon Tebay, Beverage Director of Outernet Venues (and former Head Bartender of the American Bar at London’s Savoy Hotel); Sophia Rosser, Brand Ambassador of Bacardi’s own Angel’s Envy; and Stefanie Holt, Curator of Mangrove World Whisky. Melita Kiely, Editor of The liquor storewill moderate the panel discussion, which will end with a question-and-answer session.

The panel discussion will take place from 4pm to 5pm (BST), however the event will continue until 9pm. In addition to the panel discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to meet with craft distillers and industry leaders during this time.

Activities include a portfolio tasting, private tastings, cocktail demonstrations, master classes and a photography exhibition.

On September 4th, Cheers! Spirits from the USA will be heading north to Manchester.

The event will take place from 2pm-6pm at The Whiskey Jar. Guests can also look forward to similar portfolio tastings, cocktail demonstrations, masterclasses and a photography exhibition. Registration for Manchester is also open online.
