Live content provider DirecTV has launched an IPTV service for business aviation in
Collaboration with connectivity provider Satcom Direct (SD).

This media streaming technology offers aviation business customers access to live TV
programming, but unlike previous systems, this solution is hardware-free and allows passengers to access media directly via the aircraft’s Wi-Fi network.

Kimberly de Flesco, Head of Aviation Strategy for DirecTV Inflight, said: “Our new IPTV
Service redefines what was previously possible for in-flight entertainment in private aviation,
and we are delighted to embark on this journey with Satcom Direct and bring our comprehensive range of live TV programming to a new audience.”

The IPTV service is compatible with both GEO and LEO constellations. The new service can also be customized to include business resources such as training videos, educational content and industry conferences.
