The Panthers trade Deontay Johnson and a 1/6th round pick to the Ravens for a 1/5th round pick.

So this is basically just a pick swap and the Ravens get Deonte Johnson, leaving an unhappy Carolina Panthers team going nowhere.

I don’t.

The Panthers have to hope that Xavier Leggett and Jalen Coker can actually do the rest, otherwise they’ll have another rookie quarterback next year with no one to throw to.

So that’s a whole different conversation, but it’s a little difficult not to untangle it from Baltimore’s fantasy perspective here.

Sal, I wrote about this for the website so people can read the article if they want, but I’m not sure what to make of it again, purely as a fantasy, because obviously the Ravens are getting this for the real thing Live another playmaker at a cheap price.

Why not?

Uh, but what do you think that does for both Deontay Johnson and of course the other people there in Baltimore?

Yes.

My initial thoughts are: I think this is a small bump, maybe the smallest bump for Deontay Johnson, and that sounds crazy because yeah, in real life he’s gone from being the 32nd ranked offense in the NFL right now a graded offense.

It got as good as it got, lasting just eight games in Carolina.

And he said: See you later.

Honestly, though, I don’t think this is that much of an improvement in terms of fantasy since he’s coming into an offense that’s passing the ball less than 30 times per game right now.

Just like we know that Derek Henry is there, we know that this is always some type of offense, Lamar Jackson was active in the low pass volume offense and this is a guy that has scored on 26 percent of his team’s goals in his career .

Obviously the vast majority of that was with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but now it’s been the case with so many different quarterbacks.

I mean, we’re talking about six or seven different quarterbacks that continue to put up elite numbers in terms of targets in his career because he’s different in coverage, he’s open and that’s what quarterbacks like.

So if he goes on offense, I think he will continue to achieve his goals.

But instead of, you know, looking at 25 to 28 to 30% of targets as a high number in an offense that might throw the ball 35 to 40 times a game, this now becomes a situation that probably tends to get weaker In Most weeks he’s closer to 2,728 pass attempts per game, which only hurts his overall volume, but maybe a few more touchdowns, a few more efficient passes downfield.

So I imagine it’s a wash.

But I think that hurts people like Z Flowers because there are weeks where he scores 89, 10 goals in a game.

I have to imagine it.

That means he’s down at least 1-2 targets per game and his projections are evolving, and if he loses targets he loses fantasy points and potential.

So this definitely hurts him.

So it immediately comes to mind.

Rasha Bateman comes off the field more often, which obviously hurts him.

I think Deonte Johnson has a bit of an upside because of the offensive environment, and I have to say the rest of the guys here are getting a tad down.
