Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred delayed due to a “backend issue.”

What you need to know

  • Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred and Season 6 are slightly delayed from their planned release
  • They should go live in just over an hour at 4:00 p.m. PDT / 7:00 p.m. EDT
  • There appears to be a technical issue and we are waiting for further updates from Blizzard, but hope they are released today

UPDATE October 7 at 6:36 p.m. PT: Fletcher says players will have to wait a few more hours or more for Vessel of Hatred.


UPDATE October 7 at 4:38 p.m. PT: Steam players can log in now. On the Blizzard forums, Fletcher points out that players should expect a “login/license error” when logging in. He further says, “We will provide an update on the schedule shortly.”

UPDATE October 7 at 4:17 p.m. PT: Diablo’s community leader Adam Fletcher says the developer has “begun banning logins and removing players from the game” in preparation for Vessel of Hatred. He also says, “Steam users should be able to download the 2.0.2 patch to prepare for launch.”

If you’ve already pre-downloaded the Vessel of Hatred expansion for Diablo 4 and are eagerly awaiting its live release today at 4:00 p.m. PDT or 7:00 p.m. EDT, we have bad news. You may wait a little longer while Blizzard greases the wheels
