Detroit Pistons reveal starting lineup against Miami Heat on Monday

It’s a new week for the Detroit Pistons and Monday night’s game against the Miami Heat offers another opportunity to pick up a win.

At the start of the game, the Heat only have two battles under their belt. The Heat failed in their opening game against the Orlando Magic. When they returned to the court to face the Charlotte Hornets, Miami managed to move to 1-1 before finishing their first few games.

The Pistons are still looking for their first win of the year. When they opened the season against the Indiana Pacers last week, Detroit was largely in control of the game but couldn’t finish with a win.

JB Bickerstaff returned to Cleveland for the regular season for the first time since parting ways with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday. Once again, the Pistons put up a good fight against a playoff-caliber team, but couldn’t finish the game.

Most recently, the Pistons hosted the reigning NBA champion Boston Celtics. Even though the duel started slowly for the Pistons, there was no major defeat. Detroit performed admirably, which was recognized by a Celtics star, Jayson Tatum.

The 0-3 record isn’t an ideal start, but the Pistons believe they have the tools to be better than last year. On Monday they have the chance to improve their balance.

During the preseason, the Pistons experimented with different frontcourt combinations. Players like Tim Hardaway Jr., Malik Beasley and Simone Fontecchio had the opportunity to make their case for becoming starters in the regular season.

So far, Bickerstaff has turned to Hardaway every time. In three games, Hardaway was on the court for an average of 30 minutes. During that time he has averaged 11 points, two rebounds and one assist per game. As a starter, Hardaway has shot 47 percent from three and 41 percent from the field.
