“Democrats want to reinvent history”

Meghan McCain, the daughter of the late Sen. John McCain (R-Arizona), pushed back against Vice President Harris’ mention of her father at a rally earlier this week, claiming Democrats were trying to “reinvent history.”

“Now I know Democrats want to reinvent history and turn my father into whatever illusion you need depending on the political moment you need to distort his memory for…” Meghan McCain wrote in a post on the social platform X

“But please don’t make me tell you what I remember him actually saying about Kamala Harris…” she added.

In a separate post, McCain wrote: “And consider this my final warning shot, I’m about to start spilling the tea.”

Her rebuke follows Harris’ recent praise for her father’s vote against repeal of the Affordable Care Act.

“That vote went to the late, great John McCain,” Harris said. “A great American, a war hero, John McCain.”

Meghan McCain, a former co-host of ABC’s “The View” and vocal critic of former President Trump, said last month that she would not support either party candidate in November.

She recently put pressure on Harris, urging the Democratic nominee to address issues like immigration and inflation instead of relying on personal attacks.

“No matter how much hype and media love Vice President Harris is getting right now, I don’t know her excuses for our inflation and open borders that literally have terrorists pouring across them,” she wrote in a post on X at the time.

In another post, she added, “And a short-lived response to hope, change and the weirdness of JD Vance really won’t be enough.”

The Republican presidential nominee has also sought to memorialize the late senator’s memory.

Trump’s running mate, Ohio Sen. JD Vance (right), mentioned McCain at a rally in Pheonix last month and claimed he would not have supported Harris if he had seen the conditions at the southern border.

“I don’t believe for a second that if John McCain were alive today and he saw what’s going on at America’s southern border, he would support Kamala Harris and all the destruction she’s caused,” Vance said.

The comments came just days after McCain’s son, Army 1st Lt. Jimmy McCain, announced he would vote for Harris in November.
