Demi Moore gives update on Bruce Willis’ health as he battles dementia

Demi Moore gives an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis’ health during his battle with frontotemporal dementia.

The substance The actress was featured in Friday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. “When we did that Charlie’s AngelsBruce came and acted in it and he opens the film and we got to work with him,” recalled presenter Drew Barrymore. “I mean, I knew him when he was a bartender at Cafe Central! I’ve known him my whole life too. How is he now?”

Moore replied: “Under the circumstances, he is in a stable situation.”

Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and have three daughters together: Rumer, Tallulah and Scout. During the conversation with Barrymore, the St. Elmo’s Fire The star reiterated the advice she often gives her children on how to deal with their father’s illness.

“I tell my children that you have to meet them where they are. You don’t hold on to who they were or what you want from them, but who they are in this moment,” she said. “And from that comes so much beauty and joy and love and sweetness.”

Moore also noted that he makes sure to see Willis as often as possible, adding, “When I’m in LA, I drive over every week and I really appreciate the time we all spend together.”

The Die Hard The star’s family announced in 2022 that he would retire from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia, a speech disorder that affects the ability to communicate. They later shared that his condition had progressed to frontotemporal dementia in February 2023.

People diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia may have symptoms including “unusual behavior, emotional problems, communication difficulties, difficulty working, or difficulty walking,” according to the National Institute on Aging.

In May, Rumer told Fox News that her father was “doing well” and thanked his fans for their continued support.

“What was so incredible during this experience was that my dad is so loved, and that was so evident in the openness with which we talked about it,” she said. “And I think if there’s any way we can share our experience – whatever comes out of it as a family – that can have an impact and give some kind of hope and comfort to someone else who’s going through this, then to me that’s … everything.”
