Deion Sanders angers TV exec over Colorado’s late matchup against Kansas State: ‘Half America is asleep’

Coach Prime isn’t too happy with that Colorado’s primetime matchup this week.

Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes return for a Big 12 matchup this week after a restful farewell Kansas State on Saturday night, but the timing of this weekend’s game left the head coach wondering, “Who’s doing this to us?”

“Who has the power to sit up there and say, ‘Yeah, I’ll let them play at 8:15 a.m. (local time)?'”

Presenter Mark Johnson pointed the finger at television networks and added: “This is what happens when you have a program that everyone wants to watch.”

“But how stupid is that? How stupid is that,” Sanders continued. “It’s not wise for a television executive to say we’re going to show this game at this time because you’re thinking about eyeballs. They are thinking about selling merchandise in the commercials. You think about all of this. Why.” Would you do it at a time when half of America is asleep?
