Davey Man takes sixth Truck$ & Buck$ Truck – KCSR / KBPY

Richard Welch of Davey is the sixth winner of a 2024 Ford F-150 XLT 4×4 SuperCrew truck in the 29th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s $2 Truck$ & Buck$ scratch-off game.

Welch purchased his winning Truck$ & Buck$ ticket at a U-Stop in Lincoln. Nebraska Lottery employees presented him with his new truck at the U-Stop on Monday, August 26.

Welch stopped at U-Stop, bought 10 Truck$ & Buck$ tickets and took them home to scratch them off early one morning, winning the top prize.

“I didn’t believe it,” he said. “I had to go in and wake up my wife so I could tell someone.”

U-Stop is about a mile from his house and is the only place he buys his tickets, Welch said. He is a regular customer and most of the U-Stop employees knew who he was and were happy for him, he said.

“It feels good,” he said. “It’s a great feeling.”

The $2 Truck$ & Buck$ scratch card game features the 2024 Ford F-150 XLT 4×4 SuperCrew Truck as its grand prize. Players have the chance to win one of eight Ford F-150 trucks as well as thousands of cash prizes.

The last winner of a new truck in the Truck$ & Buck$ game was from Chadron. Billy Broyles purchased a winning ticket at Common Cents in Chadron and received his prize on May 30, 2024.

The truck prize is valued at $81,500, including $976 for ownership costs and state and federal withholdings of $4,075 and $19,560, respectively, paid by the Nebraska Lottery. The odds of winning the Truck$ & Buck$ top prize are 1 in 336,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.69.

The mission of the Nebraska Lottery is to generate revenue for good causes while providing quality entertainment opportunities to Nebraskans. Since the lottery’s inception in 1993, over $991 million has been raised for the Nebraska Lottery beneficiary funds. All 93 Nebraska counties have benefited from projects funded with these Nebraska Lottery proceeds.
