The $16.8 million Sonora Junction Shoulders Project and the $8.3 million Conway Ranch Shoulders Project were funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act of 2021 (IIJA) – also known as the bipartisan infrastructure bill. Under the IIJA, California will receive an estimated $41.9 billion over five years. The IIJA provides significant funding to rebuild California’s transportation system, including support for improving roads, bridges, freight projects, public transit, infrastructure safety improvements, and increasing infrastructure resilience to the impacts of severe weather and climate change. For more information about the IIJA, visit http://rebuildingca.ca.gov/iija-by-the-numbers.

The $10.027 million Dunmovin Thin Blanket project is funded by Senate Bill (SB) 1. SB 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, provides $5 billion annually in transportation funding that is split between the state and local agencies. Road projects move through the construction phases more quickly depending on whether SB 1 funds are available, including projects partially funded by SB 1. For more information on other transportation projects funded by SB 1, see http://rebuildingca.ca.gov.
