NEW DELHI: England achieved their highest tally in 86 years as records fell one after another on an incredible fourth day of play Multan test.
After Harry Brook’s triple ton and Joe Root’s double century took the visitors to 823 for 7 (loss), the demoralized hosts were expected to play sensibly and aim for a draw.
However, something completely unexpected happened and the hosts’ fans were left stunned as the Pakistan batsmen imploded in their second essay.
Reduced to 82 for 6 in an incredible collapse, Pakistan faced an innings defeat as the English bowlers rampaged on a dead Multan track.
None of the top six batters surpassed the 30-run mark in the second innings, with star Babar Azam again posting a low score of 5.
The shocking second-innings collapse against Pakistan did not go down well with fans as the team was brutally angered on social media.

It was Agha Salman and Aamer Jamal’s unbeaten partnership of 70 for the seventh wicket that delayed an embarrassing innings defeat for Pakistan on the fourth day.
The hosts were 152-6 at the end of the game.
With Pakistan still trailing by 115 and six points behind in the second innings, England will be looking to secure an incredible victory early in the final day.
