Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo attempted to recreate the iconic 2003 poster for the original San Francisco theater production of “Wicked” for Jon M. Chu’s upcoming big-screen adaptation, frustrating fans of the Broadway musical.

In it, the 31-year-old Florida-born pop star wore a crown instead of a white hood, while the British-Nigerian 37-year-old showed off her eyes and didn’t grin with red lipstick.

Fans can also pre-order “Wicked: The Soundtrack,” which includes all 11 songs from the first act, on Wednesday ahead of the official release on November 22nd.

On Wednesday, NBC released a promo for Ariana’s second hosting of Saturday Night Live in which she warned the staff, “I would really prefer not to do anything that has to do with Wicked or Wizard of Oz.”
