Couple who charged their wedding guests $333 shares more details about unusual event

The bride and groom, who charged their wedding guests a $333 participation fee, revealed further details of their controversial wedding in New York.

In a series of TikTok videos, Nova and Reemo Styles listed more unusual aspects of their big day, which they treated as a ticketed event. On social media, the couple also shared that their paying guests “had no idea what was going to happen” during the Styles’ 12-hour wedding day.

In a TikTok voiceover, the groom explained that attendees “blindly bought tickets for $333,” knowing only the half-day duration of the event and the dress code, the latter being another “unconventional thing” about the day. In another TikTok video, the newlyweds urged their guests to dress “in a cool New York street style denim look.”

“It was a 12-hour day and people are conditioned to dress formally at weddings,” Nova said of the denim dress code in the video. “We wanted our people to be cool and comfortable and go beyond the conditioned ideas.”

The day also began in an unconventional way, with a sound bath on a double-decker bus. The couple shared footage of their group meditation in another TikTok video and explained their intentions: “We cultivated deep relaxation and began our wedding experience together with our guests,” Reemo said in his voiceover.

Earlier this month, ABC 7 reported that the Styles spent $70,000 on the festivities. A $333 ticket gave guests a seat on a double-decker tour bus and admission to the 12-hour event, which included stops at major New York City landmarks including Hudson Yards, One World Trade Center, the courthouse and a movie theater.

The Styles spoke to the outlet about their reasoning for charging guests a fee, a move that sparked some pushback from dissatisfied guests. Reactions were mixed, with Nova telling ABC 7 that pushback ranged from “I don’t care” to “Who do you think you are? Jay-Z and Beyoncé?”

As for how the couple agreed on the $333 ticket price, Reemo told FOX 10: “The number three, three, three represents change, growth and strength. That was something we chose consciously, also for my personal enjoyment. It’s a number that’s not too easy, but not too difficult either.”

They also told the newspaper that the fee was not intended to cover wedding costs. Instead, the proceeds went to a charity that supports couples struggling with infertility.
