Over the weekend, a couple hosted a very special gathering at the Great Minnesota Get-Together. I wish I had done that myself a few years ago.

This couple organized a sort of wedding reception at the Minnesota State Fair with the help of the groom’s sister!

Bride and groom host wedding reception at Minnesota State Fair

Josh’s sister suggested to Josh and Emi the idea of ​​having a “wedding reception” at the Minnesota State Fair. This is because Josh and his family have been going to the fair since he was a kid and now Emi is a fan too.

So the three of them organize a gathering at the fair and bring a huge flag to track down people.

The whole group was easily recognizable by their wedding and trade show-themed t-shirts, and Emi was accessorized with a veil and a belt bag that read “bride.”

They greeted their guests, drank lots of milk, ate a lot and went down the giant slide. According to KARE 11, a total of 160 people came to wish Josh and Emi all the best. How sweet is that!

No, this was not their “main wedding”. They will have their official wedding ceremony and reception up north, in a very intimate wedding with only 11 people.
