Could the Eagles trade $140 million star for Raiders?

The Philadelphia Eagles are 2-2 so far this season, but should give it their all this season.

Philadelphia didn’t quite look like it yet, but it has the makings of a Super Bowl team. The Eagles have plenty of talent, but injuries have left the team well below its full strength so far this season. The Eagles’ offense in particular has suffered a setback with AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith and Britain Covey all dealing with various injuries.

It appears that Brown and Smith are getting closer to returning to the field and could even be back for the team’s next game in Week 6 against the Cleveland Browns after the bye week.

There will be some serious trade discussions over the next month. The deadline is November 5th, and some star forces could be on the rise even before then. At this point, the biggest star likely to move is Las Vegas Raiders superstar Davante Adams.

Adams is a star but has had a difficult time with the Raiders, and the team has begun contacting other franchises to “gauge interest” in a trade, according to Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

“More to come: A league source familiar with the situation confirmed that the Raiders are increasingly open to the idea of trading Davante Adams,” Bonsignore said. “According to the source, the club has begun contacting teams to gauge interest in the veteran wide receiver.”

Could the Eagles pursue a deal to bolster the offense even further? If it weren’t for the cap space, the obvious answer would be yes. Philadelphia has Super Bowl hopes and adding a weapon like Adams would take the team to the next level. But there is an upper limit. Philadelphia currently has just over $11 million in cap space, and that wouldn’t be enough to take on Adams’ contract.

If Philadelphia could somehow find a way to restructure some deals to make room, maybe they could call the Raiders. As things stand, Philadelphia couldn’t get Adams. But the Eagles should keep an eye on any big-name player to see if there’s a chance of a deal. There is still a month until the deadline, so maybe something could change.
