Cooper sees who the old woman is in the trap

WARNING: SPOILERS ahead for Trap.



At the end, Cooper sees a mysterious old woman Catch. Josh Hartnett plays a serial killer who disguises himself as a supportive father Catch. Hartnett has made a major comeback in recent years after appearing in Black mirror Season 6 and Christopher Nolan’s Best Picture winner Oppenheimer. Catch also features the feature film debut of Shyamalan’s daughter Saleka as pop singer Lady Raven, who plays an important role in the cast of Catch. Saleka’s Lady Raven sings and performs throughout Catch at a concert venue where Hartnett’s Cooper is being set up. Most of the original music in Catch was specially produced by Saleka under her fictional pop star name Lady Raven.


Until the end CatchAfter Lady Raven reveals the truth about his identity as a serial killer to his family, Cooper has skillfully found his way out of many difficult situations. As the police close in, Cooper escapes and takes Lady Raven hostage, eventually returning to his home to seek revenge on his wife, who he believes trapped him at Lady Raven’s first concert Location. Cooper realizes that he has been poisoned and approaches his wife one last time with a kitchen knife. An old woman stands in the doorway and talks to Cooper, luring him in and questions Cooper’s perception of reality.

During the climax of Catch, Cooper sees his mother standing in the doorway of his house as he stands over his wife in the kitchen with a cleaver. His mother says: “It’s amazing that you’re angry, my son,“Which completely shifts Cooper’s focus from his wife to his mother. Cooper is stunned to see her, even though she doesn’t want to go into the house. He admits: “I thought I was just pretending.” She reassures him by saying: “Not all of you are monsters. You are my son. And that’s you. End of story.“She lures Cooper closer to her as she stands at the door and tells him, “Let me see you one last time.”

The film suggests this Cooper’s damaged relationship with his mother had fundamental and profound effects on his psyche throughout his childhood and adult life.

Because of the drugs that Cooper’s wife had added to his dessert, he began to hallucinate and see Dr. Grant his mother. Dr. Grant, who knew from her extensive research where Cooper’s sensitive spots lay, knew that Cooper could be brought into a state of vulnerability under the influence of drugs and when discussing his mother. Dr. Grant’s plan works effectively and Cooper is framed and captured by the authorities.

Every real singer and rapper in the trap

In M. Night Shyamalan’s latest film Trap, several real rappers and singers play fictional famous artists, including Kid Cudi, Russ and Saleka.


Although the film does little to explain Cooper’s backstory with his mother, it is obvious and understandable that the only person who can reach Cooper on such a primal level is his mother. Unfortunately, it turns out to be another trap he falls into, and it appears to be the final step in their elaborate game of cat and mouse. Cooper’s mother is barely mentioned in the film before her shocking appearance in the climax, leaving many questions unanswered Catch. Its purpose was solely to introduce the idea Cooper’s relationship with her as a child was dysfunctional and possibly unsafe.

Cooper’s mother died before the events Catch begin, which means that their appearance is at the end Catch was a pure hallucination on Cooper’s part. It was also influenced by the strategic tactics of Dr. Josephine Grant, who had learned how best to keep up with Cooper, led him to his own capture. As seen in the final moments of the film, Cooper once again finds a way to escape law enforcement’s graspHe unlocked his handcuffs in the back seat of a SWAT car. This could be a possible sequel to Catch It would be good to delve more into the backstory between Cooper and his mother.
