Cold front changes weather in Laredo; Hunter’s Moon Thursday evening

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – A cold front moved through Laredo on Wednesday, October 16, bringing cooler temperatures and cloudy skies. Reporting on the changes, KGNS weather anchor Yolanda Villarreal said: “Yesterday in the evening hours we also felt this change. Very nice and cool.”

Villarreal shared images sent in by viewers that showed the change in the weather. “Many of you saw this yesterday in the morning hours around 9am. And yes, that was the sign that the cold front was passing,” she explained. “It became cloudy and later we started to see some of the sun.”

The cold front also set the stage for the Hunter’s Moon, which will be visible this evening. Villarreal mentioned, “I just walked outside before we went back on the air and you could already see the Hunter’s Moon.” She encouraged viewers to go outside to check it out, saying, “If you Just standing there, you can see this beautiful moon tonight too.”

Villarreal also shared a video from the moon and joked about how she got the footage. “I went to the roof,” she said. “If I do that, I’ll get in trouble, but I had to take a photo of this moon because it’s beautiful.” She noted that it might be difficult to take a photo of the moon when the sky is cloudy, but encouraged viewers to try it once.

As Laredo feels this change in the weather, residents are reminded to enjoy the cooler air and take a moment to enjoy the beautiful moon this evening.
