A strong fall cold front will move across North Texas tonight, bringing with it a nice drop in temperature and a gusty northeast wind. Expect temperatures to drop by 40 degrees overnight, from the low 90s to the low 50s.

The full impact of the cooler air will be felt Wednesday morning. In fact, it will be downright chilly and temperatures can drop below 50°C and even 40°C for some! Wednesday’s high will remain in the 60s through the afternoon, giving a definite fall feel.

Thursday will start out quite cool with lows in the 40s. Parts of Northeast Texas can see temperatures in the high 30s! Temperatures will rise significantly again into the 70s. A gradual warming trend is expected into the weekend, with highs falling to around 80°C.

With no immediate chance of rain on the horizon, fire danger will be very high this week. The combination of low humidity, drought and windy weather could quickly spark grass fires.
