Christian Eckes takes third pole of the 2024 Truck Series in Richmond

Christian Eckes will start from the pole tonight (August 10) in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season finale at Richmond Raceway at 118.655 mph, earning his third pole of the 2024 season for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing and the ninth pole of his career.

Tonight, Eckes will try to secure the regular season championship title against rival Corey Heim. Eckes was 50 points ahead of Heim before today’s race.

Recent Truck Series winner Ty Majeski of ThorSport Racing lined up alongside Eckes on the front row, but only managed a speed of 118.033 in a single truck during the two-lap qualifying run.

Grant Enfinger finished the session third and Layne Riggs qualified fourth. ARCA Menards Series East regular William Sawalich rounded out the top five.

Heim, Taylor Gray, Kaden Honeycutt, Nick Sanchez and Tyler Ankrum completed the top 10.

The two drivers closest to the playoff bubble are TRICON Garage’s Tanner Gray and MHR’s Daniel Dye. Both drivers are separated by five points. Dye starts 13th while Gray starts 26th.

Of the 37 competitors competing for a spot in today’s 36-truck field, Trey Hutchens was the only driver who did not qualify.

The green flag for the Clean Harbors 250 will be waved tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, televised by FOX Sports 1.
