Prior to the cast announcement, PEOPLE exclusively confirmed that Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro will return as co-hosts for season 33, while Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough will return to the judging panel.

Ribeiro, 52, joined Dancing with the stars as co-host alongside Tyra Banks in season 31 – the same season in which the popular series is now streaming on Disney+ instead of airing live on ABC, where it first aired. He made his co-host debut eight years after competing in and winning season 19.

Julianne, 36, joined as co-host in season 32, days after ABC announced in March 2023 that Banks would step down from her hosting job after three seasons. The actress previously worked as a professional dancer on DWTS from 2007 to 2009. She later returned as a judge for six seasons between 2014 and 2021.

Derek, 39, joined the show as a judge in season 29 and has remained on the panel ever since. He originally served on the show as a professional dancer from seasons 5 to 11. Although he took a break in season 12, he returned for seasons 13 to 21 and again in season 23.

In September 2020, it was announced that he would return to the show as a judge. “This show has been and will always be very special to me,” Derek said in a statement at the time. “Coming back feels like coming home and I couldn’t be more excited to be back in the ballroom.”
