Carlyle invests capital in technology consulting firm Seidor

  • Seidor achieved sales of EUR 894 million in the 2023 financial year
  • CETP V will provide equity for the investment
  • Carlyle is a global investment firm that manages 435 billion dollars in assets

The Carlyle Group has agreed to invest in technology consulting firm Seidor under undisclosed terms.

Founded in 1982, Barcelona-based Seidor provides IT services and a wide range of services including consulting, implementation and maintenance in artificial intelligence, Microsoft Edge, customer and employee experience, data and cloud, cybersecurity and enterprise resource planning software. The company has partnerships with companies such as SAP, Salesforce, Microsoft, IBM, Google and AWS and also develops its own products. In fiscal year 2023, the company had a turnover of 894 million euros and employs over 9,000 people.

Carlyle will support Seidor’s growth by strengthening its management team, investing in product innovation and expansion, expanding its partnership ecosystem, advancing the company’s go-to-market strategy and increasing operational efficiencies by eliminating business silos and leveraging cross-selling opportunities, a press release said.

Carlyle Europe Technology Partners (CETP) V, a €3 billion fund that invests in technology companies across Europe, will provide equity for the investment.

“We believe Seidor has a strong competitive position in key markets such as Spain, as well as significant growth potential in other major European economies and North America,” Fernando Chueca, partner in CETP’s investment advisory team, said in a statement.

Carlyle is a global investment firm that deploys private capital across three business segments: Global Private Equity, Global Credit and Global Investment Solutions. As of June 30, the firm had $435 billion in assets under management. The firm’s investments in the software sector include GBTEC, SER Group, Shopware, CSS, 1E, Phrase and Hack The Box.
