Caragh Hamilton: Northern Ireland international Hamilton moves to Nottingham Forest

Northern Irish international Caragh Hamilton has signed a one-year contract with Nottingham Forest.

The 27-year-old spent last season at Lewes and left the club after relegation from the Championship.

“From my first conversations with everyone at the club, I knew it was an exciting project to be a part of and in the end, the decision to come here was an easy one,” said Hamilton.

“To progress at international level, I need professional football and I know that here, with the coaching and the high-performance environment, I can develop the aspects of my game that I need.”

Before moving to England, Hamilton played twice for Glentoran, a team in the Women’s Premiership in Northern Ireland, after a spell in Iceland.

Hamilton played 47 international matches for Northern Ireland and scored seven goals.

In February 2012, she made history when, at just 15 years and 121 days old, she became the youngest player to play for Northern Ireland’s senior national team.

In addition to the position on the wing, where she has spent most of her career, Hamilton can also play as a right-back.

Nottingham Forest plays in the Northern Premier Division, the third division of English football.
