Grandstand frustration at Borussia’s victory!

Dortmund beats St. Pauli with 2:1, but won anything but confidently. Above all, BVB advisor Matthias Sammer (57) was really excited.

The 1996 European champion sits in the stadium next to managing director Lars Ricken (48) and cannot contain his anger. He gestures wildly with his eyes wide open and can hardly seem to watch the BVB game. Ricken can only smile wearily.

30th minute: Guilavogui slips back a Smith free kick to make it 0-1. But: The attacker is just offside, and after a VAR check, referee Jöllenbeck takes the goal back.

Bitter for the promoted team – shortly afterwards Dortmund took the lead.

43rd minute: Groß simply crosses in from the right half of the field. Left-back Ramy Bensebaini (29) is free, climbs up and nods the ball into the far corner to make it 1-0.

Dortmund is ahead – but St. Pauli doesn’t give up. After 78 minutes, Eric Smith (27) hit the ball from almost 25 meters away. A great goal to make it 1:1!

Is BVB dropping points again after the defeat against Union (1:2)? No! Because star striker Serhou Guirassy (28) saves Dortmund.

83rd minute: A Gittens cross heads the million-dollar newcomer to make it 2-1. The winning goal!

Borussia is expanding its monster series with mighty enthusiasm: For the 39th time in a row, BVB remains unbeaten in a Friday home game.

The last defeat: on January 30, 2004 against arch-rivals Schalke (0-1).

Curious: After the break, referee Jöllenbeck’s radio went on strike and the game started again six minutes late.
