Buccaneers WR Mike Evans left the game against the Ravens with a hamstring injury

On the same night he made history, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans was forced out with a hamstring injury in the second quarter against the Baltimore Ravens. He was expelled shortly afterwards.

The injury occurred in the end zone where Evans was trying to throw in his second touchdown pass of the game. As he fell to the ground, Evans immediately grabbed his thigh muscles. Shortly afterwards, the veteran wide receiver went to the locker room with trainers.

In the first quarter, Evans caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield to give the Bucs an early 7-0 lead.

With this result, Evans became the 11th player in NFL history to score 100 career touchdowns. He joins Hall of Famers Jerry Rice, Randy Moss, Marvin Harrison and Terrell Owens as the only players in NFL history to have at least 100 touchdown receptions in the first 11 seasons of his career.

Evans, 31, has missed just nine games in his 11-year career, although he struggled with what the Bucs described as a nagging hamstring problem last week and did not practice on Thursday and Friday. He has 26 catches for 335 yards and a team-high six touchdown receptions this season.

The Bucs’ second-leading TD receiver was also injured Monday night. Chris Godwin was forced off with a leg injury late in the fourth quarter of Tampa’s 41-31 loss to Baltimore.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
