BTS Star V announces a new single – featuring a singer who has been dead for almost 50 years

Halloween just ended and Thanksgiving isn’t here yet… but it’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas. This has certainly become a popular idea in the US music industry, with holiday-themed songs and albums being released earlier and earlier each year. A member of one of the world’s biggest bands has announced the release of a new seasonal song in about a month, and it’s a collaboration with a man forever linked to the happiest day of the year.

V, one of BTS’s seven singers, announced on Wednesday (November 6) that a new song will be released next month. He’ll be releasing an updated version of the holiday classic “White Christmas,” and he won’t be alone.

Bing Crosby himself will appear in his version of the standard. The crooner made “White Christmas” a hit and then a holiday staple more than half a century ago. His recording is the most famous of the bangers and is heard by millions of people every year.

V and Crosby’s “White Christmas” is set to be released on December 6th. This timing should allow fans of both musicians to purchase and stream the song in sufficient numbers for it to become a hit billboard Charts, even if just one that lasts a few weeks.

Crosby originally released “White Christmas” in the summer of 1942, preparing for the winter months when it could become very popular. The melody was written by Irving Berlin and is one of his most famous compositions. The single won Best Original Song at the Academy Awards because it was created specifically for the film Holiday Inn.

The legendary singer would spend the rest of his life singing the song, and it became one of his signature songs – and one of the best-selling singles of all time. He even sang it in another movie, White Christmasmore than a decade after it became a staple.

The partnership is certainly unexpected and strange, but it makes sense. V’s current popularity will bring the song to many young listeners around the world. He has the power to make it a hit again and reinvigorate interest in the cut… not that it has disappeared from the public consciousness. Crosby – or rather his estate – offers the South Korean musician the chance to become part of a big part of American history and land another hit on the charts.

Crosby died in 1977, but lately he’s been finding his way back billboard Rankings every year around Christmas. Several of his tracks, including of course “White Christmas,” continue to become hits as Americans stream and purchase the song in large quantities every December. Thanks to the BTS artist’s inclusion, he could now rise higher than ever on some lists.
