Brutal brawl between fans in the stands at NBA game distracts from player’s post-game interview: “This is crazy”

Miami Heat star Tyler Herro was struggling to stay focused during a postgame interview Tuesday night when a brawl in the stands caught his attention.

After the Heat’s preseason win over the San Antonio Spurs, a fight broke out in a lower section of the Kaseya Center, Herro spoke to Bally Sport Sun.

The sniper showed impressive multitasking as he answered the questions while also focusing on the chaos behind one of the rings. Herro would apologize for being distracted before completing his answer.

“Just keep thinking about what we can do to get ready for the season,” Herro said. “Sorry, I’m distracted by an argument up there. ‘That’s crazy.’

Kelly Saco, who conducted the interview, looked on and said she hoped “this will end soon” before letting Herro go back to the locker room. As Herro walked away, he was still looking at the scene of the fight.

A video of the incident went viral on social media, showing a vicious clip that lasted at least 30 seconds. Arena security and law enforcement officials then approached the scene to defuse the situation.

Three men were involved and were throwing fists as two of them appeared to be attacking the third. The three were also seen grabbing each other as one of them had his shirt ripped at the end of the clip.

A woman is also seen trying to intervene while a bystander keeps shouting for them to stop beating.

What sparked the massive brawl remains unclear.

Herro scored 14 points in the Heat’s 120-117 win. The team will begin its season next Wednesday at home against the Orlando Magic.

Miami lost to eventual champion Boston in the first round of last season’s playoffs after facing Denver in the 2023 NBA Finals. Still, the Heat have retained the same core of Herro, Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.
