Bronny James is just starting to get his feet wet after his first two NBA preseason games with the Los Angeles Lakers. On Sunday, he and his father LeBron made history in his second such contest when both took the court at the same time to start the second quarter against the Phoenix Suns.

The younger James only took one shot, which he missed, and turned the ball over four times in 13 minutes. His father, meanwhile, was 8 of 12 from the field and scored a game-high 19 points while adding five rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.

The younger James was then asked if he considered the older James his father or just a teammate.

Perhaps both members of the James family will at least take the field at the same time this preseason. But it seems unlikely they will do so once the actual games begin.

Considering how much work the younger James needs on offense, he’ll likely spend the lion’s share of the season in the G League developing his skills and confidence.
