Brady Cook visited the hospital during the Mizzou-Auburn game, Eli Drinkwitz reveals

Brady Cook was determined to help Mizzou win over Auburn, even if his Saturday was cut short by a trip to the hospital.

Cook left Saturday’s game early after sustaining an injury he didn’t have while dropping back to pass. At halftime, a Mizzou spokesman said Cook’s return was unlikely. However, Cook defied all odds.

Drew Pyne replaced Cook in the 3rd quarter. Pyne was 10 of 21 passing for 78 yards, but the Tigers couldn’t reach the end zone with the backup quarterback.

Cook returned in the third quarter and fortunes took a turn for the Tiger team. With Cook back as QB, Mizzou managed two touchdown drives and a 2-point conversion to defeat Auburn 21-17 after falling behind in the 3rd quarter.

After the game, Eli Drinkwitz delivered Cook’s message to the team. With only a few games left at Faurot Field, he was determined to get back there as quickly as possible.

Cook finished the game completing 11 of 22 passes for 194 yards. He also had 8 carries for 14 yards.

Cook and the Tigers will look to make it three straight wins when Mizzou travels to Alabama in Week 9.
