Boris Johnson was compared to Shrek at Ambani’s estimated $320 million wedding

The wedding between billionaire heir Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant is shaping up to be India’s version of the Met Gala – with lots of celebrities, lots of money and headlines about who wore what and – in the case of former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson – why?

After Ambani and Merchant finally got married on Saturday, glimpses of the ceremony leaked online, and Johnson was spotted… looking a lot like Shrek, according to social media commentators.

“Listen to me, Boris Johnson in 2024 and Shrek,” wrote one commenter with a photo of Johnson at the Ambani wedding next to the cartoon character.

Another commentator pointed out the estimated cost of the wedding at $320 million, “which is an obscene sum, especially given the enormous poverty in India,” they wrote.

“They paid Boris Johnson to attend. This is what they got,” they added with a photo of Johnson’s outfit.

And the comments about Johnson’s attire didn’t stop there. Another commenter asked: “You wouldn’t turn up to a wedding dressed like that, would you? And certainly not your own.”

As reported by The Daily MailOther celebs in attendance included FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, John Cena (why not?), and of course, no random gathering of celebs would be complete without a few Kardashians—Khloe and Kim, to be exact.

But that was just the day of the wedding. In the run-up to the star-studded event, Ambani managed to bring Rihanna back on stage and put Justin Bieber back to smile.

Congratulations to the bride and groom.
