Many of the year’s bestsellers will be available at the upcoming Last Blast of Summer Book Sale on Monday, August 19, at the Juniata County Library.

MIFFLINTOWN – I haven’t had a chance to pick up this fine book this summer, but there’s still a chance.

The Friends of the Juniata County Library have their “Last hit of the summer book sale” from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, August 19, at the Juniata County Library, 498 Jefferson St., Mifflintown.

Since the last sale, the friends have received many book donations, including some of the bestsellers of the year.

Amazon named “The Grocery Store Heaven and Earth” as the best book of 2023. “Tom Lake” And “The Covenant of Water” both enjoyed more than four months on the “New York Times” Bestseller list. Megan Miranda’s “The only survivors” first appeared on the bestseller list in April 2023.

“These popular current titles and many more will be available in the August sale,” said Virginia Haubert, public relations director for the Friends of Juniata County Library.

As with all Friends book sales, customers can fill a bag with books, DVDs, CDs and magazines for $7.

There are also puzzles with 300, 500, 750 and 1,000 pieces, as well as children’s puzzles for $3 each.

Additionally, during this sale, customers will receive a free coffee table or oversized book with the purchase of a bag. This offer is valid while supplies last.

Haubert recommends that guests arrive early to get the best selection.

All proceeds benefit the Juniata County Library.
