According to a family member, the search for his missing five-year-old son continues.

Dallas Fire-Rescue, Dallas Police and the Game Warden’s Office investigated the 911 call that came in near 2779 Mountain Creek Parkway at 1:37 p.m

“A child was reportedly submerged in an area stream while fishing,” said Jason Evans, a spokesman for Dallas Fire-Rescue. “The boy’s father jumped in to save him and also went into hiding and neither of them resurfaced.”

The father’s body was recovered around 5 p.m. The medical examiner’s office will confirm his identity and cause of death, Evans said.

“Efforts to find the child continued until approximately 7 p.m., when the search was called off due to decreasing light conditions,” Evans said. “The DPD dive team’s efforts will resume on Sunday morning.”

CBS News Texas will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
