Blazers fans bring excitement to the Moda Center on opening night

On Wednesday evening the city was not called Portland, but Rip City!

Countless fans entered the Moda Center wearing red for the Trail Blazers and many in blue for the Warriors.

“We have a new young first draft rookie, Clingan, and I don’t know if he was first, but I think he was,” said Robin Wisner, a Trail Blazers fan.

“I love the Warriors, but I also love the Blazers,” said Andrew Fowell, a Warriors fan.

Some fans have four legs. We spoke to the owner of a dog named Snowflake.

“She loves going in there and you’ll see her when we go in there. She’ll be doing laps inside there,” said Scott Seif, Snowflake’s owner.

Just like Snowflake wears her wit, Taylor Stewart rocks the swag of his blazers.

“Oh, I have a blazer necklace and blazer socks. According to my wife, I have too many Blazer items, but I don’t think so,” said Stewart, a Trail Blazers fan. “It’s not about being the best team over 82 games. It’s about being the best team on day one and I think we destroyed the Jazz.”

Here in Rip City, it’s not just basketballs in the air, it’s optimism.

“I have been a season ticket holder for 10 years. We may not be one of the top contenders, but when you go out there you can’t beat these guys’ hearts,” Wisner said.
